Matura Art Work
During the last three months of their high school graduation year (Matura), the students develop a series of independent art works. After an intense consultation of different art catalogues and postcards, they choose one art work to start with and develop and analyse it using a number of different techniques, until the students succeed in appropriating the issue and process an individual art work to present to the examiners at the oral Matura exam. This exercise requires a profound investment in motivation and time, though the production should be accompanied by a sort of diary containing reflections, brainstormings and sketches which testify the evolution process of the work from the beginning. In the oral exam, pupils present their artworks and the process diary physically and orally, explaining their experience and intention.
