Fotoserie 96, Untitled
The “Photographic Series 1996” consists of 12 monochrome colored photographs from Barbara Fässler’s archive, developed over the years, while traveling around the world. Those series thematize the connection between the representation (or representability) of reality and the artistic production like painting in its most radical expression as monocromie. After a massively minimalist period of abstract art, from where it seemed there was no return, Fässler investigates the relationship of contemporary art to reality and its experience.
