Il passo

The performance “Il passo” was developed together with Steve Piccolo and Filippo Armati for «Festival Ex-Pulsi» at the Mudima Foundation, Milan. The festival was curated by «Takla Improvising Group» (Cristina Negro and Filippo Monico; sponsored by the Swiss Institute in Rome). At the beginning of the evening, Barbara Fässler took photographs of the visitors’ shoes from the bottom up. She projected the 35 photographs later at random mixed with 39 definitions from the dictionary about the term “step”. Steve Piccolo produced a soundscape starting from recorded noises of the visitor’s steps, integrated with musical instruments. Filippo Armato danced to the soundscapes and the projected pictures.
